Crappie anglers are doing really well when making long drifts in the deep water depths of Chetek chain of lakes.  Crappie angler's drifting and vertical jigging their favorite crappie killers  or jigs as they are referred to now days. Tipping  your jig  with a waxie or minnow will help entice more bites.

Bluegill  anglers are also finding some rather good fishing on these hot weather days, while drifting  with a hook and bobber set up in 10-14 ft. of water.  Set your bobber so your hook is a foot to  a foot and a half from the bottom.  Waxies, earthworms or pieces of night crawler dangled from your hook should do the trick in triggering some dandy size  bluegills into biting and they will hit it and swallow it right away.  So always be ready to set the hook quickly
.
Bass fishermen are finding some good action while fishing with scum frogs an rats along the surface  on these hot days while working the bays and back waters,  where duck weed is in abundance.  Again here, always be alert and ready for a strike at anytime,  the big ones will only give you one chance.

Northern pike fishermen have been catching a good number of pike when fishing the shallow flats in the mid morning hours and early afternoon hours of the day.  Chartreuse spinner baits and fire tiger colored rapalas and husky jerk baits seem to work well in triggering the pike to hit.  Daredevils and Johnson silver minnows fished with a trailer  dangling from the hook,  can also trigger some very strong strikes. Never let your guard down when fishing pike. They will hit your bait near or far from the boat.  They are known to hit so close to the boat you would swear they were right underneath you an they will scare the {      } out of you.

Walleyes are being caught  in the early  morning and early  evening hours of the day when fishing   under water gravel  rock bars  and rock bar points.  Live bait rigs seem to be the way to catch them, some anglers are fishing them with a taught line and others are using  bobber set ups of their choice. Night crawlers on a harness or a leech worked with a Lindy rig set up will help you get your bait down into the deeper depths
.
Good luck to all anglers and always keep your rod tip up. AND  PLEASE,  DON'T  LITTER .
